Anxious about the start of school? Books always help!

Often children starting nursery school or kindergarten have some worries. Will they have friends? Will they like the teacher? Will Mommy or the caregiver pick them up? Do they have snacks? Will the other kids like me?

Try reading books with your children, you know what Emily Dickinson said: "There is no frigate like a book to take us lands away".

There are many old stand boys and many new treasures:

Curious George's First Day of School by Margaret & H. A. Rey

(ages 4-8)

Will I Have a Friend? by Miriam Cohen

(ages 3-6)

A Kid is a Kid is a Kid by Sara O'Leary

(ages 3-6)

My First Day by Phung Nguyen Quang and Huynh Kim Lien

(ages 4-8)

The Shape of Home by Rashin Kheiriyeh

(ages 4-7)

Books soothe the jitters no matter what age you are and what your jitters are about. Fall into a book with your child and let it happen.
