Father's Day, set an example, now is the time!

It might be going to a Kansas City Chiefs game and teaching your children about determination.

It might be working on reading.

It might be marching for something important and talking about why that matters.

It might be playing golf and learning what the rules are so important.

But whatever it is make these moments count. Fathers, or other father figures, have a powerful impact on their children. The effects of good fathering are enormous and wide-reaching.

Many studies show:

The way fathers play with their children also has an important impact on a child'semotional and social development. ... As a result, children who grow up with involved fathers are more comfortable exploring the world around them and more likely to exhibit self-control and pro-social behavior.

Teach your children values, teach your children respect and teach your children that they can be anything they want to be and you will love them for that.

Find the right school that shares and supports this developmental value, because education matters! For example, does your school have a Father's Committee? Or Dad's night out? Or a Father's Basketball Team? Or a Father's Book Club?
