In Baghdad, the International Book Fair was held at their International Fairgrounds because despite the freedoms they do not have, Iraq is still home to a myriad of literary traditions and a plethora of voracious readers, even today.
Iraq is where, nearly 5,000 years ago the earliest known form of writing emerged, in the form of cuneiform symbols inscribed in clay along the shores of the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers.
