A 10 year old named Lily who lives in Houston started a non-profit in honor of her Dad, who died in Afghanistan just before Christmas 5 years ago. She gets toys donated and gives them to churches, hospitals, Head Start Centers and more. Her company is called: Lily's Toy House.
There are so many places to give. For example, Toys for Tots is a huge organization that does this very efficiently. They have seen a 40% drop in donations this season
Or, how about baking for your doormen or doctors or mail delivery people or anyone you are grateful to.
This is a perfect opportunity to teach children about caring and empathy for others. How about writing notes of appreciation to people in your life, or a drawing or send dinner.
May this holiday season remind all of us to be grateful for what we have, not angry about what we don't have.
And if you need help, contact Wendy Levey Consulting, we've got this: child assessments, interview skill work, organization, etiquette class, school choice, educational toy and book lists, specialists and so much more.
And thank you!
(before I discovered headbands, but my cardigan game was strong!)
