Teachers are the threshold of civility, intellectual curiosity and passion. Today is Teacher's Appreciation Day and every one of us has a special teacher who made a difference. Mine was Mrs. Elizabeth Delman, an inspirational English teacher at The Hewitt School, when I was in 9th grade. Why was she special? She taught me to dig deep, inquire and truly love literature. And, she made me believe that I was smart.

Or, they can be old like my Dad who still teaches at almost 98 years of age:
Regardless of who that magical teacher is or was and regardless of when you or your child met this person, thank them, celebrate them, cherish them.
