What schools are supposed to be doing.

As you look at schools for your child at any age, are you looking at the right things?

Does your child's school have a defined curriculum that is mission aligned?

Here are 3 things to look for:
Are the children that are taken at kindergarten, 6th and 9th grade the right children for the ethos of the school, the existing group of students and their curriculum?
Is the curriculum appropriate for the children taken?
Are the teachers able to teach the curriculum they are working with?

How many children are being tutored in the class? Why? Are they the wrong children for the demands of the curriculm? Do the teachers not know how to teach children with different learning styles and capabilities? Or is the curriculum inappropriate for the children in the class, either too advanced or too developmentally inappropriate?

These are the things to look for in the schools you visit, before you see how many gyms they have or where the kids go to college or how many robotic championships they have won.
As we enter an era in public eduation where eeach stsate is in chardge of their educational desting, private school applications are likely increasing, what will you do when you look at schools?
Need help finding schools that talk the talk and walk the walk?
