Children need to be exposed to lots of different topics, sports, ideas, disciplines, art forms, curriculum subjects and people if they are going to find out who they really are and what their passion is.
Pick a school that exposes children to as much as possible in a safe, thoughtful, socially equitable manner. Make sure they are listening and so are you.
Do girls learn differently than boys? (Spoiler's alert: they sure do!) Have you figured out how your child learns? Visually? Auditorily? Kinisthetically?
Do you want a big school or a small school? Coed or single sex? Public or private? SHould it have reliugion, or not? WIll your child walk to school or take a bus? Do you believe in strong defined leadership with an academic and social vision or whatever has gone on that has always worked? Does college placement matter? Does teacher diversity matter? Exactly what matters?
School matters, research what's available, this year it will be hard, if not impossible to visit the schools. Contact: Wendy Levey Consulting, because we got this, really!
